Siren Alarm went off at half past four to wake me up to watch what ever was remaining of the Charlton Vs Man Utd match. I was reluctant to watch at first but the moment the screen was switched on and Man Utd was leading by one goal already in the 66th minute, my eyes slowly woke up. A wonderful individual effort by Fletcher gave Man Utd the lead. Carrick gets a run out and he looks good in midfield.
I nearly fell asleep until Saha scored in the 80th minute and rounding it off was the come back goal of Ole 'Baby Face assassin' Solskjaer after two injury hit season. Its good to see the player responsible for Man Utd lifting the European Champions League for the Treble back in 1999-2000 season back in action.
Middlesbrough cancelled Shevchenko's 16th minute goal twenty minutes before the end with a very late come back. Pogatetz thumped in a header in the 80th minute and Viduka with the winning goal in the final minutes of the match. Absolutely an unexpected result for the Champions but I am utterly happy that Man Utd have started the season with back to back wins and very convincingly I might say.
Other results include a home win for Martin O'Neill's return to the EPL with Aston Villa, Cahill saving Everton with an eequaliser the 84th minute and Fulham saved their early season blushes with a 90th minute penalty to ensure a one all draw at Craven Cottage against Bolton.
I am fully awake now with a full day ahead of me. I know I will be knackered come the end of the day but I will have a wide smile as I rub this result to my colleagues who are non-Man Utd supporters as we gear ourselves up for a futsal game later this afternoon. Hehehehe.
I might have another post today. A kind of 'reasoning' post to Haryati's Kampung Boy post on Mr BR's blog.
