KK Road Trip with Fayyad

So yesterday was the first time I was about to drive all the way to KK. Usually it would be my younge brother, Tenno who would be driving to KK and I would do the driving in KK.

So my cousin Fayyad was my co-pilot. A road trip for us and with Hers coming into her 7 months, she was in no condition to travel on a long journey in a car.

So we started our journey at 12 noon. An hour delay from the initial 11 am due to unforseen circumstances. Anyways, the first checkpoint at Kuala Lurah, the traffic was not as bad as we anticipated.

After that we drove to past Limbang and off to Temburong. Second check point was the immigration at Limbang and then the Brunei/Temburong immigration post. That was also not so much of a hassel.

Our first test was the queue at the first ferry to get to Bangar and then off to Labu and then into Sabah. After the ferry, we had to have our passports chopped again at the immigration post near the surau.

Then off we went past Bangar and to Labu. We stopped at the filling station *will insert name after I come back from KK*. It was closed because a shell tank was there to top-up their supply. I asked Fayyad to ask if we could fill up our tank because we just had to and the kind people at the filling station was very nice to fill up our car. THANK YOU!!

Off we went to go past Labu. Then on our way, two cars highlighted us and it was a sign that there was a roadblock/speedtrap up ahead. Fayyad suggested we go at 60 Km/hr and I figured it could not be that slow.

We saw two men dressed up like contractors and they were undercover with the speedtrap machine. I was going at 80 Km/Hr.

We were laughing because they were good at disguising themselves. However, *Jeng*Jeng*Jeng* [Insert laughing sound at background] the police pulled us over.

POLIS: [Bagi salam] Bule minta IC sama lesen biskita?

SiRT: Bah! Ok! Kajap ah. (Smiling and laughing with Fayyad thinking it was just protocol)

POLIS: [Started to jot down my details] Di mana kita keraja? Kontek number kita? Mubail? Upis?

SiRT: [Replies promptly and smiles]

POLIS: Bah biskita tadi speeding ah.

SiRT: [Still smiling] Iawah??!!

POLIS: Awu

SiRT: Berapakan speed limit sini ani?

POLIS: a.. speed limit sini 65 kilomita sejam biskita tadi deraip 83 kilomita sejam

SiRT: [Still smiling] Ahh... Rupanya. Pasalnya nda ada sign speed limit tadi yatah ku pikir 80 kilomita sejam.

So I paid my speeding fine of BND$5o. OMG! I have a bad driving record. My first ticket and I was not driving A.Keys and because I was driving at 83 Km/hr in a very 'busy(not!)' road in Temburong on the way to KK!! WOW!!

I saw the funny side of it. We thought it was hilarious.

Anyways made our way to another immigration post and then to the next ferry.

This was a real test of patience. Some 'nice' people were not so patient and cut the long queue.

We were minding our own business and took the opportunity to play PES2007 on our PSPs. I won the first match 4-3 and drew the second at 1-1. Then we just chilled, listened to songs and waited. Sorry Fayyad, you're reading this now heee~ Don't hate the Playa Hate the Game! Karang Man U Vs Liverpool. May the best team win.

Gotta jet now. Will continue perhaps later or tomorrow.

A 'funny' story at StarBucks which involves PSPs, a 'Nice & Ultra Friendly' Old Man and a sprint to the finish line. Trust me you will want to know. Happy Holidays Peeps!

Welcome to the PHD Family

First off this is way over due and I would like to congratulate my cousin and his wife on their marraige last week. I deeply apologise I was not able to be around as much as I would have like but I was there for the nikah and sanding.

Congratulations to Fizul for getting married - 'Welcome to the cub geng!' and to Lina - 'On behalf of the PHD Family I would like to say welcome to the PHD Family.'

Today will witness yet again another wedding, another extension in the PHD Family. The first girl in the PHD grandchildren to get married today. The Nikah will be held this afternoon. I am so happy for her.

I know the groom from my MD years and he is a great guy. Here is an advanced 'Welcome to the PHD Family' greeting and it will be official once the 'ijab kabul' has been agreed.

Congrats to Ainan and Zary - Love you guys to bits.

Cool thing about this Nikah is most of the guys will be in black, nya urang Brunei 'beristiadat'.

So till then. It is a very busy year for my family. First my wedding. Then my cousin Fizul, then Zary. It does not stop there. We have another wedding coming end of this month on 'Hers' side.

This is the year of the Baby Boomers getting hitched. :D

With the Guest of Honour - Mr Koh

Today history was made in the Interschool Teachers Bowling Tournament. The annual Bowling meet organised by SMMH, Tutong is an event looked forward by many teacher who love to bowl. This year I have been assigned to to help out with the Bowling Club for the CCA. I am always honoured to be selected to represent my school.

We played in the afternoon session and were lucky enough to not have any other school next to our lane and we had both lanes to ourselves.

I wished I had kept a record of the scores but I didn't. But I remember we had a very slow start with an overpoints of 586 in the first game. The second game was an uplifting moment for the team as we cheered on each other and the Top Male Bowler for the 3rd time as well, Adi Mulyamin, bowled marvelously. He scored 214 points of the 700+ points the team scored in the second game. In the third game was slacked off a bit, but Ckg Juraidah had her game on when she managed to get a triple strike in the 3rd, 4th and 5th frame. She also won the Top Female Bowler for 2007.

I am happy to be part of the 2005 and now 2007 STPRI Knights Bowling Team and win the Competition again. I have the Trophy with me but it is in the car and I am too knackered and 'lazy' to take it out and take really nice pictures of it. I will do it tomorrow.

I played the best I could today to redeem the unfortunate loss for the Choir Competition. I dedicated my win to the STPRI Choir Girls. You girls have made me proud and I am happy for all of you. We may not win this year but there will always be a next time. Pictures will be up tomorrow.

January Gone

I have been busy with work and also my blog addiction has dried up due to my tiredness from work and working out.

I still make my regular visits to the JPMC Gym and do my 60 minute runs.

Note to RF: If you have not had the chance to go to the gym - the 3rd Treadmill that was 'Out of Order' is working now.

Also they replaced the TV infront of the treadmills with a Sony Flat Screen TV. Kudos to JPMC Fitness Gym.

Today I did two seperate 30 min runs not by plan. I had plan to do a 60 minute run but half way my tummy felt a bit sick after the Steamed Chicken Rice I had for lunch out with my Fiance's Family. I guess my metabolism is working around the clock *Hehehehe*.

My first run I started at 8.3 from 0-15 mins
Then I walked at 5.5 from 15-20 mins
Run at 8.3 from 20-30 mins
At 30th min pressed 'Cool Down' and finished at 4.++ km at 35 mins.
I did not take a picture because the toilet was yelling for me. *Too much info I figure*Blush*

My Second 30 min run was to redeem myself because I did not go for my run on Tuesday. My Fiance was not feeling well so I accompanied her to the clinic and decided to spend the day taking care of her. I managed to browse through the booths at the 'ITMania @ The Mall' and purchased an external bluetooth USB for B$10 and a 1GB Pendrive for B$28. Money well spent I guess.

My Lappy is with Lappy Wizard - Mr Alex - He can fixie fixie my lappie lappie and makie makie into a newie newie. So my Asus M6 is still kicking after 3 years. I can't wait to get it back hehehehe. Thanks Mr Alex.

Anyways back to my second 30 min run.
I ran a full 30 minutes at 8.3 and reached 4.14 Km at 30 minutes.
My legs were about to give up when I reached the 25th min mark but I told myself just 5 minutes more.
I composed myself and focused.
Result is a wide smile from myself.
I will go again tomorrow and do my 60 minute run.

Have you realised that today is the 31st of January already. Time flies by so fast. GCE O and A results out yesterday.

Congrats to the Girls of the All Girl High School in Bandar for their remarkable results. You ahve made your parents, your teachers, the School, your family and most importantly 'Yourself' proud. I did not teach form 5 last year but I know most of them and some have gotten outstanding results and some will be back in school by next week.
