New Seven Wonders of the World - tba

Greetings,

Since my laptop has been in the 'hospital' it is quite hard for myself to do research, do my work or even have the time to blog. I would like to share this with you today.

We all know the seven wonders of the world. Here listed 'not' in chronological order:

1) The Great Pyramid of Giza - A gigantic stone structure near the ancient city of Memphis, serving as a tomb for the Egyptian Pharaoh Khufu

2) The Hanging Gardens of babylon - A palace with legendary gardens built on the banks of the Euphrates river by King Nebuchadnezzar II

3) The Statue of Zeus at Olympia - An enormous statue of the Greek father of gods, carved by the great sculptor Pheidias

4) The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus - A beautiful temple in Asia Minor erected in honor of the Greek goddess of hunting and wild nature

5) The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus - A fascinating tomb constructed for King Maussollos, Persian satrap of Caria

6) The Colossus of Rhodes - A colossus of Helios the sun-god, erected by the Greeks near the harbor of a Mediterranean Island

7) The Lighthouse of Alexandria - A lighthouse built by the Ptolemies on the island of Pharos off the coast of their capital city

To be precise the above Seven wonders of the world was part of ancient civilization. A colleague of mine and also a close friend found a very fascinating site.

He said to remember 7th July 2007. Apparently on 07.07.07 - the new official 'Seven Wonders of the World' will be announced at lisbon, Portugal.

After scanning through the site this project was initiated in 1999 and it was only early this year that the top rated 77 site were narrowed down to 21 finalist to be announced on 07.07.07.

At the time of publishing this there was 277 days and 14 hours left to vote. So be part of history and you can tell your children and grandchildren that you took part in voting for the 'Seven Wonders of the World'

So what are you waiting for? Make your way to http://www.new7wonders.com/ to find out more about the 21 Finalist and be part of history by placing your vote.

How many of you have realised we have already been fasting for 10 days? I did not realise it until a friend of mine mentioned it to me. I pray the days go by slowly as I enjoy the fasting month of Ramadhan. Amin.

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "When Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened."
