Selamat Tahun Baru Hijrah + 00'7' KM

First I would like to share that I have been doing 6.8 and 6.9 Km runs for 60 mins for the past couple of days so today I thought maybe I would do something different.

I started with a 5 min walk at 5.0 and then ran for 10 mins at 8.0. and that was the routine till the last 5 mins and ran at 8.5 and by the 60 minute mark I had ran over 7km. My first 7 km yea!! Might not sound like 10 km - congrats to Mr Adidarwish. His post today is very interesting which is about running on the road or on the treadmill.

I agree with his points plus when you run on the road you can not stop running because you have to reach the place where you left your car, if you run at the stadium that is. I do miss running at the stadium and the MOF route that I used to do.

I think I am fit enough but my aim to join the gym is to shed the weight. Come this Sunday will be my first week at JPMC. It is too soon to mention success but at the rate I am going I have no doubt I can achieve it.

I received one of these forwarded e-mails and I though this is worth sharing.

STROKE: Remember The 1st Three Letters...S.T.R.

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00pm, Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead. It only takes a minute to read this...

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Thank God for the sense to remember the "3" steps, STR . Read and Learn! Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S * Ask the individual to SMILE.

T * Ask the person to TALK to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e. . . It is sunny out today)

R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS..

NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out their tongue. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke. If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call the ambulance immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

Finally to compensate for being too lazy to post anything for the past couple of days.

One of the coolest and funniest actors I have had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing has a new movie out middle of this year. Afdlin Shauki is starring in a movie entitled 'SumoLah'.

I have not had the opportunity to check out the link but here it is for you - http://www.sumolah.com

But for more info about the funny man and his intellectual ramblings you can visit him regularly at his blog - Afdlin Sauki: Inside my head

duties as muslims whole-heartedly. Amin.
