First I would like to make a SoulKonekShen Tribute to Two local Bloggers who blog about their 'Runs'. I have started running since last year. After making a promise to myself to shed the 'unwanted' pounds, I started looking after my food and drink and also making myself a running routine.
I am grateful to have come across Mr RezaFaizal [Link Here] and Mr Adidarwish [Link Here].
They both provide if not extensive and informative workout routines as well as educating others about a healthy diet. They also provide tips for beginners and I think its very useful if you are just about to start running.
This is the first time in 2 years since I have started to go back to the gym and I usually go for my runs at the Stadium . My favourite route is - I start from the Indoor stadium, make my way to the Commonwealth Drive and up the MOF road, pass the MOF building and out to the main road and downhill to the 4 way junction and turn left to go to the stadium (the road that passes the Islamic Dakwah Centre) and back to the Indoor Stadium. My best recorded time was 18 minutes flat.
I am fortunate to have a friend who is a 'work-out freak' and I mean it in a good way. He is a person who knows his body very well, in a year he can build up his physique like body builder and lose it in the same year. Its like a hobby for him. He knows exactly what to eat and he usually prepares his own meals. He has been doing this for a couple of years already and lucky for him his brothers are also into body building so he has people he can go to the gym with. I remembered when I was trining with him, I wanted to cry so badly because he pushed me and friend to the max but it was worth it. But silly me I gained back, but that was 2 years ago.
Last year I made a remarkable achievement by my standards and I want to try and lose some more before my 'BIG' day. Want to look good for the cameras you know. Hahahahahaha.
Today was my second day at the Gym and I did a 4.5 Km run for 40 minutes. I can't quite recall how I started and all but tomorrow I want to better it and follow Adidarwish's 5Km runs. Hope I can do it. For the past couple of days I have been running at a pace of 8.0 kmph but I feel like I could up the speed. So tomorrow I will try it out as I will head to the Gym a bit early as I have a Futsal match at half past 4. I won't push myself too hard or as Adidarwish mentions 'asking for an injury'.
Hope I can do it! If I can't I will not lose hope, remember, there is always the next day. Ciao Peeps.

That's the spirit man... I have been running seriously since I was 17/18. Got married in 1995 and since then I got lazier and lazier.... The wake up call was when I hit the scale at 100kg mark (I think that was around 1998). Joined JPMC in 1999 and was religiously got back into running. My weight went down to about 72kg. Somehow I totally stopped running in 2005 when I did my master and of course gained back to 90kg. I started again early 2006 but was only serious around December last year when I recovered from back pain..Now I am down to 81kg...about 10kg more to burn
Thanks Adidarwish... I only picked up running early 2006 and by then I did not like getting on the scale. So I did not know my weight but I was wearing jeans size 44. Now I have managed to size down and am wearing a size 37. I am also aiming to burn some 10 kg more. I am more motivated than ever. hehehe C u around
hmmm... wondering how you look like. I go to the gym 4/5 times a week. I must have seen you.
My ideal weight is actually 68kg according to the JPMC medical checkup I did. I'm now 70-71kg. 3 more kg to lose and I'm the happiest men in the world.
